Who can use RescueBase ?

FREE VERSION: Any rescue or missing pet team that has been running for 3+ years, is either a registered Charity, CIO or NFP and is known and operates in accordance with the Animal Welfare Act, with financial transparency, and the appropriate policies and procedures that drive best practice within rescue can have access to use the software at no cost. Rescues will never be charged for use.

PAID VERSION: To allow us to continue to host the system as our user base grows, a paid version is available to anyone involved in animal related industries that operates at profit – such as trainers, behaviourists, kennels, dog walkers etc.

The free and paid versions are identical – the difference in charging structure is solely dependent on whether the user is a non-profit or a business.

Why is it free ?

RescueBase has been developed from open source software, by a rescue, to offer free to all rescues because the UK rescue world is, quite frankly, in chaos. There are many paid versions of rescue management software available – but we would rather that a) the money spent was put towards helping animals in need, and b) poor record keeping and practice in rescue was not a result of inability to afford management software. The aim is to eventually have a single portal where members of the public go to find a new rescue animal, or surrender their pet, instead of the thousands of facebook pages that lack transparency and assurance. Only when it becomes more difficult to set up a rescue in 10 minutes on social media will standards improve for the animals we proclaim to help

Is our data safe ?

Yes – each organisation would have their own private and separate database hosted on a cloud server. No-one can access that data unless you give them the login details.

How many users can i have ?

You are able to set up any number of users on your site, with various levels of user permissions (so volunteers would have access to much less data than managers etc)

How do I sign up ?

Sign up below and we’ll be in touch
